Man In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle

ODESSA, TX -- (Press Release) An Odessa man is in critical condition following a major crash that occurred this evening in North Odessa.

On November 4, 2018, at approximately 1741 hours, Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to 1107 East 42nd Street in reference to a car-pedestrian crash.

Investigation revealed that Doyle Wayne Garrett II, 59 years of age, of Odessa, exited Lowe’s Supermarket and was attempting to walk southbound through the parking lot.

A gray 2016 Dodge Ram, being operated by Jaime Martinez, 42 years of age, of Odessa, was traveling eastbound through the Lowe’s Supermarket parking lot and struck Garrett.

Garrett was transported to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries. There were no reports of any other injuries.

The investigation continues.
