SAN ANGELO, TX – The 65th Annual Cinch Roping Fiesta will begin this weekend with a preliminary roping round on Friday October 26 at the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This opportunity is for any calf roper that is not already competing in Saturday's invitational roping. Ropers will compete for prize money, and the top five contestants will be invited to advance to Saturday's Invitational Calf Roping. Admission is free.
Ultimate Calf Roping will follow as another free admission in the same location from 1 to 5:30 p.m.
Saturday October 27 begins the major events for the Cinch Roping Fiesta. There will be continued Ultimate Calf Roping and for anyone who like to shop, the Cowboy Collectibles Trade Show will be set up Saturday and Sunday at the Foster Communications Coliseum from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Invitational Calf Roping contest with be held in the Outdoor Fiesta Arena at 1 p.m. on Saturday and the Fall Spectacular Livestock Show begins at 2 p.m. in the Livestock Barn. There will be a TLCA sanctioned lamb show and a JMGSC sanctioned goat show.
The Roping Fiesta Saturday Night Dance will be at the Wells Fargo Pavilion, 200 West 43rd St., from 8 p.m. to midnight. Jody Nix will be performing live music. The dance is BYOB and tickets are $20 each. Call 325-653-7785 or visit the Wells Fargo Pavilion to pick up tickets.
On Sunday October 28, there will continue to be the Ultimate Calf Roping and the Cowboy Collectibles Trade Show. Ending the Fiesta is Steer Roping and Double Mugging from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Roping Arena. The parking is free with a $10 admission.
