CHRISTOVAL, TX-- The Christoval Cougars picked up a big win to open district play, dominating Rocksprings 37-8 on Friday.
Sophomore Brayden Wilcox led the Cougars in all aspects, going 7-for-14 passing with 130 yards, rushing for 135 yards and posting three total touchdowns.
Christoval’s defense also shut down the Angoras by holding them under 200 yards of total offense. Senior Payton Polk highlighted the stellar defensive showing with a 55-yard interception to seal the game.
The Cougars also got things done on special teams with a punt block.
Christoval (4-2, 1-0) heads to Irion County next week looking stay hot.
Rocksprings (3-3, 0-1) gets Menard on the road next Friday.
