San Angelo Ghost Tours Begin Thursday

SAN ANGELO, TX – Any old town has its own ghost stories, but you can visit two historic sites tomorrow, Thursday October 11, that will tell you of their own ghost adventures.

Beginning first, the Goodfellow Spouses Club is hosting the Wig Out Ghost Walk. Wear a wig and join the group at the Raw 1898 wine bar, 38 N. Chadbourne St, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for appetizers, included in the ticket price. Then you will go to the San Angelo Performing Arts Center, 2nd and Gillis St., for a Ghost Walk with Be Theatre from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

Participants will stroll through the historic downtown streets and gaze upon some of the oldest and most haunted buildings. Be sure to wear a wig or have a crazy hair style because a prize will be awarded for the best in show.

Tickets are $12 cash only per person, and tips for the tour guides are accepted. The event is open to the public, and a Goodfellow Spouses Club membership is not required. Visit https://www.betheatre.com/ghost-walks-2018 for more information.

San Angelo’s second ghostly adventure tomorrow evening will be Fort Concho After Dark from 8 to 10 p.m. at Fort Concho on 630 S. Oakes St.

Visitors may have heard the story about the tragic death of Edith Grierson long ago, but tales of Annetta Bishop, the Merriam family and Convict Thomas Duncan will be shared while visiting several of the fort’s buildings. Guides will tell of people who lived and died at each site.

The same ghost tour will also be on Thursday, October 25. Tickets are $8 for the public and $6 for Fort Concho members. Space is limited.
