BRADY, TX-- The Wall Lady Hawks opened District 4-3A play with a sweep of the Brady Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday.
The Lady Hawks won 25-12, 25-9 and 25-4 on the road.
Rylee Braden and Rachel Stewart powered the Lady Hawk offense with eight and seven kills respectively.
Rylee Luther set up those attacks well with 21 assists. She also led the team defensively with five digs.
Brady will travel to Reagan County this Saturday for their second district game.
Central Stays Hot in District Play
The Central Lady Cat volleyball team swept Abilene High in District 3-6A play at Babe Didrickson Gym.
The Lady Cats dispatched the Lady Eagles 25-13, 25-17 and 25-20 in straight sets.
The game was also used to benefit former Central student Zach Sutterfield who was injured in the San Marcos fire.
Central improves to 24-5 and 3-0 in district play. They will host Hurst L.D. Bell this Friday.
Water Valley Sweeps Sonora
The Water Valley Lady Wildcats continued their red-hot form with a sweep of the Sonora Lady Broncos on Tuesday.
The Lady Wildcats won 25-20, 25-22 and 26-24 in their final nondistrict game of the season.
Sonora’s usual suspects Mary Kyle Johnson and Brae Harris led the offense with nine kills each.
Harris, Johnson, Lane Cahill and Danyse Cantu each posted one block each in the loss.
Karah Martinez dug out eight Water Valley attacks.
Brae Harris and Raeven Harris each tallied eight assists for the Lady Broncos. Jackilyn Sykes had six assists.
Sonora (13-13) will host Wall on Friday.
Water Valley will host Sterling City on the Saturday.
