The building that housed the former Grandy's Restaurant was seen being torn down Friday as work crews prepare to build a new structure that will house a brand new Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen.
The Grandy's franchisee closed the location Oct. 11, citing problems that the next door, newly built Discount Tire was obscuring roadway visibility to the sign. “It just dwarfed the building,” the franchise owner said then, “it covered our sign up, you could only see the D-Y-S.” More.
The new Popeye's Lousiana Kitchen will be operated by the same franchisee out of Midland who handles the two San Angelo Burger King restaurants. He said in an interview earlier this month that the plan is to have the new restaurant open by October. Details.
