BROWNWOOD, TX-- The Friday night lights will be just a bit brighter at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brown County tomorrow, according to a report by Brian Gosset with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Fox Sports Southwest will celebrate the return of Texas high school football, and football in general, with their second annual Texas Football Days.
The station began the new tradition which commemorates the unofficial religion of the Lone Star State last year. It was the first time in history that Friday regular season games were televised.
In addition to their unprecedented coverage, Fox Sports Southwest will carry Brock at Brownwood at 5 p.m. before concluding their doubleheader with Lufkin at Longview at 8:30 p.m.
Gosset’s report states Fox Sports upped the ante by agreeing to carry the Brock-Brownwood game live on their secondary national channel, Fox Sports 2. The Lufkin-Longview game will be aired on a delay at 1:30 a.m. CT, per the report.
In addition to their live broadcasts, Fox Sports will have 10 reporters on the sidelines of 10 different games throughout the state. The reporters will be used for live look-ins at those games and “limited commercial interruption,” according to Gosset’s report.
