SAN ANGELO, TX -- A South Texas man charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for a stabbing at a San Angelo Motel 6 was placed on deferred adjudication Wednesday.
Mikel Jaycub Connor, 22, of Von Ormy near San Antonio got five years deferred adjudication and was fined $1,000.00 for the Oct. 13, 2016 attack.
According to court documents, Connor was in a room at the Motel 6 at 311 N. Bryant Blvd. when he began arguing with Justina Papa. Timothy Weber was also in the room and heard the argument. Weber told police he confronted Connor and Connor started kicking him. At one point, Connor picked up a screwdriver and stabbed Weber in the hand.
Weber then took the screwdriver away from Connor and Connor picked up a knife. Weber said he then ran out of the room. Connor was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
District Judge Jay Weatherby accepted a plea agreement that placed Connor on deferred adjudication for five years and fined him $1,000.00. Connor was release from the Tom Green County Jail at 78:28 p.m. Wednesday evening.
