Latin Rock Band Siggno Brings Monster Tour to San Angelo Sept. 29

SAN ANGELO, TX — Downtown San Angelo, Inc. is proud to announce the Latin rock band Siggno headlines the inaugural ¡Viva! San Angelo! This is a celebration to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, scheduled for Saturday, September 29, at the Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial Riverstage in downtown San Angelo.

While Siggno is headlining the concert, Grupo Vida, also known as The Electric Cowboys, are opening.

The music group Siggno was founded in 2000. By 2017, Siggno broke paid attendance records at RodeoHouston, selling more than 75,000 tickets there. The band is hot because of their unique sound.

Siggno’s sound is a fusion between heavy metal, like Iron Maiden or Motley Crue, and traditional Tejano. It is a blended sound referred often to as “Norteño” or “Rockteño.” Think of it as a fusion between American rock and the music and culture of Northern Mexico.

"The energy we have is the energy of a rocker, but with accordion and bass sixth; It's something new, it's a new concept. I always tell my friends to close their eyes and listen to the music with their hearts and when they open their eyes they say 'wow, I never imagined it' ", Jesse Turner, Siggno’s front man of the San Antonio-based band, described Siggno’s sound.

"We like rock and we like the Norteño and there is a fusion between the two. They put us 'rocking' [...] it sounds different but that's what it makes you feel. At the end of the day, it's music that you listen to, and the lyrics and that you relate to, and the love that we put on a record that means so much to us,” said Turner. "We like what Siggno is, what it means, and we hope we can open a new door for other groups. We want to be the example that it does not matter how you dress. What matters is music; the most important thing is the love one has for music and life.”

This is a family event with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. Kids under four feet tall are free. Several food trucks will provide a unique culinary experience around the stage. VIP tables on the dance floor near the stage are available. Tickets range from $10 to $31.50 in advance, and $25-$31.50 on the day of the show.

Early bird pricing of $10 general admission is available through August 31.
