It's Hot and Getting Hotter; Expect Heat Advisories as High Temps Reach 107 This Week

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Afternoon temperatures across West Texas are forecast to reach 105 to 107 degrees by the end of this week.  

According to the National Weather Service, soaring heat may prompt heat advisories and warnings and increase the threat of heat related illness.  

Very hot temperatures are expected across West Central Texas Tuesday into the weekend. High temperatures are forecast to be in the 100 to 107 degree range.

At this time, the hottest temperatures look to be Wednesday through Sunday. Heat Advisories and/or Excessive Heat Warnings may eventually be needed for portions of the area.

The heat will increase the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

The very young, the elderly, those without air conditioning, and those participating in strenuous outdoor activities will be the most susceptible to the heat. Take frequent water breaks if working or playing outdoors. Also, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
