Christoval Firecracker 5K and 4th of July BBQ Draws Hundreds

 

CHRISTOVAL, TX -- The annual Christoval Firecracker 5K and one mile fun run and annual Christoval Volunteer Fire Department BBQ drew hundreds of runners and donors to the small town for its annual Independence Day celebration.  

The 5K and one mile fun run began at 9 a.m. and the BBQ was served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plates were $10 and they also sold brisket to go for $10 per pound.

There was also a raffle for two guns and children were allowed to tour the fire trucks.  

The annual event is a fundraiser for the Christoval Volunteer Fire Department.  

Wednesday evening there will be a fireworks display in Pugh Park in Christoval with parking across Toenail Trail at Christoval High School.
