SAN ANGELO, TX -- Thousands of people gathered early Tuesday evening to hear the San Angelo Symphony and watch the fireworks display at the July 3rd Pops Concert at the River Stage in downtown San Angelo.
The temperature was in the triple digits but that didn't stop concert goers from having a good, patriotic time.
On this Independence Day several events are planned. The annual Santa Rita Home Owners Association Parade is set for 10 a.m. and Fort Concho will celebrate an old Independence Day Army tradition, firing hourly artillery salutes from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Parade Ground to mark the nation’s 242nd birthday.
Then Indpendence Day Celebrations in San Angelo will be capped off with the annual fireworks display at Lake Nasworthy sponsored by All American Chevrolet and Autoplex.
Residents are urged to use caution if using fireworks on private property outside the city limits.
