SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man charged with sexual assault of a child took a plea bargain Wednesday.
The plea agreement states that Angel Hernandez, 25, is sentenced to “confinement in the State Jail/Institution Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a term of 8 years.”
Hernandez was arrested in May 2015 with Austin Ray Carpenter, 18, for drugging and raping a teenage girl.
The girl told police that she had taken three Xanax pills that night and was standing nude by the dresser when Hernandez walked in, grabbed her arm, and pushed her face into an unknown white powder, forcing her to inhale. After the victim stated she was in and out of consciousness, according to court documents.
The Statement of Plea Bargain states Hernandez will serve 8 years and pay a $1,000 fine.
