TxDOT: Roadside Mowing Operations Underway in the Region

SAN ANGELO, TX — Major roadways in and around San Angelo, like the Houston Harte Expressway, Bryant Blvd/U.S. 87, and Sherwood Way/U.S. 67 are not the county’s or City of San Angelo’s responsibility for keeping the grass mowed. Instead, maintenance of these roadways is conducted by the State of Texas through the Texas Department of Transportation, or TxDOT.

TxDOT announced this morning that mowing operations are underway. TxDOT mowers are in operation in Runnels and Coke Counties right now. Mowers will begin taking down the tall grass along TxDOT roadways in Sterling and Glasscock Counties on June 4.

Tom Green County’s roadways will see the mowers from June 8-13 before they continue southwest to Irion and Reagan Counties.

If you’re traveling the highways, please use caution when you see the tractor mowers.
