SAN ANGELO, TX -- (Press Release) A rainy forecast Saturday morning is pushing the annual Lions Clubs Pancake Breakfast to move inside Fort Concho’s Commissary Building at East Avenue C and Burgess Street.
Breakfast by the Lions starts at 7:30 a.m. and will continue until about 11 a.m. Tickets are $6 and will be available at the door.
Several nearby, large paved parking lots near the fort’s commissary offer ample parking for hundreds of vehicles.
The remaining Frontier Day events will remain on the porches and interiors of Officers’ Row on the fort’s south side. Crafts, demonstrations, displays and children’s activities will take place all morning. East Avenue D will remain closed to traffic. Guests are also welcome to park in the Paseo lot on South Oakes Street or walk from the Commissary to Officers’ Row.
All outdoor activity on the Parade Ground, including the Cavalry Pass in Review, vintage baseball game, sheepdog demonstrations, Concho Cowboy Company skits, and living history artillery fire will take place pending weather and field conditions. The Regional Cavalry Competition finals will be at 1:30 p.m., if the Parade Ground is safe for riding.
Fort Concho’s Visitor Center at Barracks 1 and all regular exhibit buildings will remain open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call Fort Concho at 325-481-2646.
