San Angelo Fire Marshall Ross Coleman says no one was at home when the house went up in flames on Beacon St. Thursday afternoon. Coleman says there were flames coming out of the attic when firefighters arrived. They were unsure if anyone was in the house so they called the second alarm.
Firefighters battled the blaze for about two hours. No one was injured at the scene.
The house was a total loss.
Coleman says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Firefighters are battling a two-alarm blaze at a home in the 1600 block of Beacon St. this afternoon.
According to our reporter on the scene, firefighters have taken defensive positions containing the fire to the house.
Flames were coming out of the attic when firefighters arrived. No one was in the house when the blaze began.
There are five fire engines, three battalion vehicles, one ambulance on the scene.
Our reporter says San Angelo Police Officers have blocked off the streets and two utility trucks are now on the scene.
