LEWISVILLE, TX-- The Central Bobcats dropped their opening two games of the Lewisville Tournament on Thursday.
Lewisville Hebron won 5-4 over Central in the first game and The Colony knocked off Bobcats 4-3 in game two.
In the game against Hebron, Central led 4-1 going to the fifth inning before Hebron scored four unanswered runs to win the game in the bottom of the seventh.
Cole Nelson performed well at the plate for Central by going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Rance Rosas went 1-for-3 at the plate and kicked off the scoring with a solo shot to left field in the first inning.
Jonathan Limon took to the hill to start the game for the Bobcats. Limon went five strong innings by striking out nine, but allowed four runs on three hits. Rosas was charged with the loss after coming on at the beginning of the sixth inning and allowing the winning run in the seventh.
The Bobcats came from behind in game two to take a 3-1 lead over The Colony in the fifth. But The Colony would score three runs in the final two frames, including the walk-off Sac-Fly, to steal a win from Central.
Nelson was the only Bobcat with a multi-hit game by going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Trey Neslage started the game for the Bobcats, allowing four runs on five hits with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Rosas came on tasked with shutting the door once again, but surrendered two runs in his two-thirds innings of work to get charged with the loss.
The Bobcats fall to 4-11 in 2018 with a doubleheader against McKinney Boyd and Frisco High on Friday.
