SNYDER, TX-- The No. 4-ranked Wall Hawks kicked off the Snyder Tournament with a dominating 10-0 win in six innings over Seminole on Thursday.
Sutton Hurst got the start on the mound for the Hawks. Hurst dominated Seminole batters by allowing one hit in six innings of work with three strikeouts. At the plate, Hurst helped his own cause by going 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Hawks offensively.
The Hawks scored seven runs in the first two innings against an outmatched Seminole squad.
Leading 5-0 in the bottom of the second, Hurst delivered a two-run single on a lined single to center field to put Wall up 7-0.
After scoring a run in each the fourth and fifth inning, the Hawks came up to the plate in the bottom of the sixth needing just one run to secure the win. Tristan Jenkins gave the Hawks just that with his first hit of the game to score Hurst on a single to left field.
Tanner Seider and Dryden Virden also went 2-for-3 at the plate for Wall, each with an RBI. Seider scored four runs and Virden scored two.
The Hawks improve to 10-2-1 ahead of a doubleheader on Friday against panhandle outfits Idalou and Shallowater.
