SAN ANGELO, TX -- The threat of wildfires is elevated Wednesday afternoon according to the National Weather Service.

Elevated fire weather conditions will affect areas mainly west of a Throckmorton to San Angelo to Ozona line from late Wednesday morning through the late afternoon hours, due to gusty west winds, low relative humidities and warm temperatures.

And scattered thunderstorms will be possible this evening and tonight east of a Clyde to Junction line. The main hazard will be dangerous lightning.

We will update this story as conditions change and the NWS releases new information.
