Miles AD, Head Football Coach Steps Down After Five Years

MILES, TX—After five years as Miles’ Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Chad Currie has announced his resignation effective at the end of the school year.

“Honestly, my wife and I felt it was time,” said Currie. “We wanted to make a change from Miles. I can’t say anything bad about Miles. The staff and the community have been wonderful.”

Currie’s resignation was handed in at 8 am on Feb. 12.

Currie’s five year stint in Bulldog country made him the longest serving Athletic Director and Head Coach for Miles.

After being hired in 2013, Currie compiled a 21-34 record at Miles and four straight playoff berths from 2014 to 2017 while frequently playing the likes of state powers Albany and Iraan.

While Currie is a coach through and through, he’s not opposed to new experiences off the field.

“I can’t see myself not coaching next year,” Currie said before adding that he’s open to a new experience “in or out of coaching” in the area.
