Six San Angeloans Share Views on Stormwater and Flooding at City Forum

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Six San Angeloans discussed stormwater and flooding concerns at a forum on the City’s Capital Improvement Plan Thursday evening at the McNease Convention Center.

City Budget Coordinator Kimberly Holle led the forum which lasted less that 20 minutes.  Mayor Brenda Gunter also attended the meeting.

Holle told attendees that the current Capital Improvement Plan has 102 projects over five years with available funding of approximately $416 million.  Mayor Gunter said the CIP includes total funding requests of $700 million and any additional projects would add to that today request.

Projects discussed Thursday include dredging Parkview Lake, addressing flooding on Foster Rd. and the Loop 306 access road because of new construction in Bentwood Country Club, reconstruction of Brentwood Park off Howard St. and planned improvements to Ft. Concho.

Holle said San Angeloans can provide input by going to the city’s website and completing a survey about capital improvement projects.  She says 650 people have already filled out the six question survey.

The information from the forum and the survey will be developed into a report to be delivered to the city council at its first regular meeting in February.
