SAN ANGELO, TX-- Don't get your hopes up about a white Christmas just yet.
On Sunday, the GFS 384 hour weather model from Pivotal Weather predicted San Angelo would receive 4.7 inches of snow on Dec. 26.
Now that same model is saying no snow.
The National Weather Service in San Angelo noticed the model.
"Anytime you look that far out, [forecasting] is just a guessing game," Aaron Woodward with the NWS said. "[The NWS] likes to use seven day models."
Woodward would go on to say that if a variable changes, those models will change drastically.
"Those models will go back and forth for a while saying it will and won't snow," Woodward added. "We like to look for consistency."
Despite a possible lack of a white Christmas, it should feel like Christmas with a forecasted high of 54 degrees and a forecasted low of 30.
