SAN ANGELO, TX — City offices will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. There will be no trash pickup on Christmas and New Year’s days.
Garbage collection will be delayed one day from Dec. 25 through Jan. 5. So, Monday’s routes will be serviced on Tuesday. Tuesday’s routes will be serviced on Wednesday, and so on into Saturday during the weeks of Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Routes for commercial customers will also lag by a day during that two-week span.
Among the City operations that will be closed: Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, the Parks and Recreation offices, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, the Animal Shelter, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court and the Nature Center. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will be closed Dec. 22-26 and Dec. 29-Jan. 1.
All City offices reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, and on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Fort Concho and its visitors center, 630 S. Oakes St., will be open for self-guided tours from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 23 and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 26 and 30. The fort will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. It will be open for self-guided tours from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 31.
The Nature Center, 7409 Knickerbocker Road, will offer half-day camps from noon-5 p.m. Dec. 19-22 to allow parents to complete last-minute Christmas shopping and errands.
