SAN ANGELO, TX — Tents and tepees are up on the parade grounds at Ft. Concho Thursday in preparation for Christmas at Old Ft. Concho this weekend.
Vendors are moving into the barracks buildings and volunteers are preparing for the annual holiday celebration.

Christmas at Old Ft. Concho is the largest Christmas celebration in the Concho Valley, featuring shopping, live entertainment and food galore runs Friday through Sunday. Daily admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and military, $3 for children 7-17, and free for children 6 and younger.
Join Santa for pancakes Saturday morning. Hosted by the San Angelo Lions Clubs, the breakfast will be served in the stables from 7:30 a.m.-11 a.m. The cost is $6 per person for breakfast only, $10 per person for breakfast plus grounds admission (a cost savings!). Children 6 and younger are free.

The final day of Christmas at Old Fort Concho begins with a classic chuckwagon breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice. Hosted by the San Angelo Cowboy Church Chuck Wagon Team in the fort's stables, the breakfast costs $10 per person and runs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Stick around for an old-fashioned worship service with preaching and singing that begins at 10 o'clock in the stables.
