BIG LAKE, TX — The Reagan County Owls dominated in their home district win against the TLCA Eagles with a decisive 40-0 shutout.
Quarterback Alex Chevez led Reagan County to their impressive victory with three total touchdowns and 190 yards of total offense as he drove the Owls’ offense with ease throughout the night.
He was assisted by Cahel Lafferty who added to an impressive rushing attack for the Owls with more than 100 yards and a touchdown on the night.
Although the TLCA Eagles faced a significant scoring deficit throughout the night, they did not back down and continued to fight. The score doesn’t give credit to the Eagles, who kept the game physical throughout the night. The Eagles allowed the Owls to score just 12 points in the second half.
TLCA Eagles Head Coach Brent Rider did not have much to say, but mentioned that the Eagles “were in spots, we just didn't make tackles.”

TLCA’s signal caller Kaiden Kirkland faced constant pressure throughout the night. Even so, he continued to look for his playmakers in Orlando Romero and Cole Davis downfield to make plays.
Although the Eagles gave a valiant effort, their play on the field did not match Reagan County who controlled the game throughout with an impressive defensive and offensive performance.
TLCA’s running back Kentrell Williams was optimistic for the second district game. “I think we could have won honestly,” Williams said. “We got to get prepared for next week, get ready for Ballinger and step our game up.”
