SAN ANGELO, TX — The City of San Angelo Animal Control will temporarily suspend fining citizens for lost pets found by animal control. According to City Public Information Officer Anthony Wilson, the City’s animal control officers’ primary goal in the aftermath of the storm is to help reunite pets who had escaped from yards with their proper owners.
On trash and debris, the City’s Parks crews are focused on addressing high-priority safety issues caused by storm damage. Wilson said City officials warn residents to be mindful of downed or low-hanging power lines as you drive around San Angelo. City crews are encountering many incidents of these, and working with AEP to fix them.
City Parks Senior Manager Roger Havlak called the aftermath of Friday night’s storm a “huge mess.”

If residential trash customers are unable to transport debris from cleanup of their property to the three bulk drop-off locations, Wilson advises them to set the debris out for the next bulk pickup day. Likewise, if the debris fits in a bin, it can be picked up sooner on the next trash day.
