Abilene Police Searching for Buried Body at North Abilene Property

ABILENE, TX - At around 7 a.m. this morning, members of the Abilene Police Missing Persons Unit and Criminal Investigations Division, along with Texas Search and Rescue and their Cadaver dogs, began searching the property around a home in the 3900 block of old Anson Road. According to a report by local news source KTXS, officials are searching for a body they believe to be buried there--a body possibly linked to a 2013 cold case.

"Sgt. Lynn Beard told KTXS they believe the body is someone who was reported missing four years ago," KTXS reported. "But he would not release a name."

At this time, it's unknown who or what prompted police to search the property, or why they think it's linked to the case, said KTXS.
