"Upon our arrival, patrol units located a 55-year-old male subject [who] was pinned underneath the passenger car," said Griffith. "Citizens and patrol officers worked to free the man, and he was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries."

Griffith said this is being investigated as an accident.

"We don't see any sign of foul play. It appears just to be a straightforward accident," he noted.

Sgt. Griffith added that medics and hospital personnel did everything they could to revive the man.
