WACO — The Wall Hawks varsity football team could not overcome the defense of the Mineola Yellowjackets in the Class 3A Division I semifinal at Waco ISD Stadium Friday evening. Mineola held Wall scoreless all of the first half. In fact, Wall didn’t advance past the 50-yard line the first half.
The only score by Wall was a second half kickoff return for score. Two points were scored on the conversion.
'Mineola advances to the 3A Division I state championship game against Yoakum, a 28-24 winner over Malakoff, at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
The Wall Hawks finish the winning season with a 11-4 record.
