ABILENE, TEXAS – The Abilene Zoo is hosting its annual Halloween Party Boo at the Zoo on Saturday October 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Boo at the Zoo invites various businesses, churches, and clubs to host treat shops throughout the zoo, allowing the trick-or-treaters to gather goodies in a zoo environment.
The event brings hundreds of volunteers to the Abilene Zoo who, according to Chairman Claudia Diltz, have “great ideas and festive spirits” that make the event “merry not scary.”
This year, something new was added to the party. The “Trick or Treat Town” is a new area that allows the young guests to play games, enjoy snacks, or burn off sugar while jumping on one of the three available bounce houses. The Abilene Zoo also promotes conservation and urges trick-or-treaters to bring their own reusable treat bag to collect their candy.
Tickets for this event are available for pre-sale right now at the following locations: the Abilene Zoo Store, any Abilene Teacher Federal Credit Union location, La Voz 93.3 radio station, and Hispanic Life Magazine. All pre-sale tickets are $4.50 per person. Children under the age of two can participate in the event free of charge. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $5. Any business or organization still interested in participating in Abilene Zoo’s biggest event of the year can call event coordinator Flavia Fernandes at 325-437-4914, or email her at [email protected].
