Eden Man Arrested for Sexual of Assault of a Child

BRADY, TX - Yesterday, at approximately 8:15 a.m., officials with the Brady Police Department, with the assistance from Concho County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant in Eden that stemmed from an ongoing Sexual Assault of a Child criminal investigation.

The investigation began in Brady on Aug. 22, 2016, after a 9-year-old child made an outcry against 47-year-old Eden resident Edward Castanuela III.

Officials said several items were seized as evidence, and Castanuela III agreed to accompany officers to the Concho County Sheriff's Office for questioning.

Castanuela confessed to the offense, and was released as officers applied for an arrest warrant. After obtaining an arrest order through 452nd District Judge Rob Hofmann, officials executed the warrant at 4:22 p.m. Castanuela was transported to McCulloch County Jail pending arraignment by a magistrate.
