According to a press release, the San Angelo Elks Lodge will hold a mentorship program with both San Angelo Boys & Girls locations. There will also be representatives from Goodfellow AFB speaking to members at each location. Newly Elected City Council Member Lane Carter is scheduled to speak at the South Side Unit.
Elks members will be serving pizza and drinks after the mentorship program. They will also be giving away school backpacks with school supplies to registered members of the Boys & Girls Club.
Additionally, the San Angelo Fire Department will have its ladder truck at each location. The ladder truck will be at the Northside unit, 1802 N. Lillie Street, beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday August 4. The ladder truck will be at the Southside Unit, 2762 Ben Ficklin Road, at 4 p.m. on August 4.
San Angelo Elks Lodge members will be using an Elks National Grant to help fund this mentorship event.
