The new salon and boutique on Chadbourne Street is bringing its colorful vibe to the outside of the business by featuring a new mural created by one of its co-owners.
Megan Smith, co-owner of Burlap & Paisley, brought it upon herself to create a mural that features items representative of different aspects inside the store. The blonde model holding the hairdryer is representative of the salon inside; the guitar represents the company's early beginnings in which Smith would restore guitars; and the vintage suitcase represents the journey it has experienced.
“The mural outside tells the story from where we started to where we are now,” Smith said.
Burlap and Paisley opened its doors on January of this year (see story here). Since then, the business has grown to include five massage therapists, five aestheticians, six hair stylists and both makeup and nail techs. It’s grand reopening will be September 17. Smith hopes the mural will attract more people to the side of Chadbourne St, which houses several of San Angelo’s historic buildings.
