The San Angelo Symphony announced its 29th annual Pops Concert will feature a T-6 Texas II flyover on Sunday, July 3.
The T-6 is used by the United States Air Force for basic pilot training and Combat Systems Officer (CSO) training and by the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps for Primary and Intermediate Naval Flight Officer (NFO) training. Based out of Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas, Captain Ryan Gandy and Captain James Nussey will pilot the aircraft. Both pilots are from San Angelo and are Central High School graduates.
The San Angelo Symphony July 3rd Pops Concert, presented by The James B. and Lois R. Archer Foundation, will take place at the Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial RiverStage located on the banks of the Concho River at 16 E. Avenue A.
The gates will open at 12:00 p.m.; the Community Band will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by the San Angelo Symphony at 8:30 p.m. General admission is free, but reserved seating is available ($10 - $25) by coming by the San Angelo Symphony office, located at 72 West College, in the historic City Hall on the west mezzanine level.
