Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Announces New Website

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office announced the launch of its new website this morning.

According to a press release, the objective of the website is to strengthen the quality of law enforcement services to the citizens and visitors of the county. The press release emphasized that no law enforcement agency can operate at its greatest potential without input from the citizens they serve.

The goal of the website is to keep the community informed and up-to-date. The Sheriff’s Office also encourages citizens to assist in this effort by communicating critical information through the website, phone app, or through common means of communication.

By sharing information, Sheriff David Jones said he believes it will help in keeping the community safe by reducing and limiting the opportunities for crime to occur and bring justice to those who violate the law.

“It is my hope that this website will be an effective means for citizens and law enforcement to communicate,” Jones said.    

Jones also mentioned the terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida on Sunday. He said, “[It's] become even clearer that it takes both the community and law enforcement working together to keep our community safe.”

It will feature press releases, messages from Jones, updates, information about divisions of the Sheriff’s Office, as well as a link to submit crime tips via email.

Other features on the website include:

Alert Notifications – allows the public to sign up for alert notifications from the Sheriff’s Office via email or text – including press releases, messages from the Sheriff, most-wanted updates, special alerts and jail roster updates.

Social Media Links – allows the public to follow the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.

Most-Wanted Listings – allows the public to view photos and descriptions of wanted individuals.

Jail Roster – allows the public to view photos and information for individuals booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center and/or released within the last 48 hours.

Warrants – provides current information and photos of people with outstanding warrants. Welcomes the community’s help in locating these individuals.

Crime Tips- allows the public to provide crime information to law enforcement in a safe and secure manner.
