This evening at 5:50 p.m., a San Angelo Police officer was dispatched to the scene of a major crash at the intersection of Ave. L and S. Chadbourne St., in front of the Concho Pearl Icehouse.
The collision was between an orange Chevy Colorado and a silver Ford Expedition. As the Expedition was traveling east on Ave. L, the driver of the Chevy Colorado was traveling west on Avenue L, and ended up making a left turn in front of the Expedition.
"When that happened, they wound up colliding into the intersection, causing the accident," said the officer.
Due to the collision, the intersection of Ave. L and S. Chadbourne St. was closed off for 45 minutes. There were no reported injuries, but EMS was called out to check on a child passenger in the Expedition; the child proved to be uninjured.
Two citations were given at the scene. One citation was for a failure to yield right of way on a left turn. The second citation was given for a failure to display a driver's license.
