Midland Police Officer Hospitalized After Rollover Crash With 18-Wheeler

MIDLAND, TX — A Midland Police Department officer was hospitalized as a precaution Wednesday morning after their patrol SUV overturned in a collision with an 18-wheeler north of Midland, according to the City of Midland.

The crash occurred about 4.5 miles north of the intersection of North State Highway 349 and Craddick Highway.

Photos from the scene show the marked police SUV on its roof and debris scattered across the roadway. The other vehicle involved was a belly dump trailer.

The officer was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital. Their current condition has not been released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. Northbound lanes of SH 349 were partially blocked during the emergency response, causing delays in the area.
