Local businesses in San Angelo have closed down, are going to be closing soon, or will be changing names, so San Angelo Live! reached out to these business to find out more information.
Midnight Rodeo: 2581 Sunset Dr.
Mark Easterling, previous owner of Midnight Rodeo, mentioned the business had not been making money for several months, and so he decided to close its doors on Saturday, May 14.
When asked if it would reopen in the future, Easterling said, “I should never say never, but with the economic climate as it stands, I don’t see it happening any time soon.”
Gentle Touch Auto Wash: 1921 Sherwood Way
Gentle Touch, at this location, opened January 1, 1990, according to the Better Business Bureau in San Angelo. An employee at the Gentle Touch Fast Lube, across from the closed auto wash, revealed that the business has been closed for five to six months.
Albert Bermea, manager at the Fast Lube, mentioned the auto wash didn’t have consistent management, which might have led to the closing of the business. However, there is no confirmed reason as to why it closed. The owner has not sold the rights to the building, so it could reopen in the future.
Four H Recycling: 19th and Armstrong
Four H Recycling opened its doors April 4, 2011, according to the Better Business Bureau in San Angelo. However, there was no specific reason provided as to why it closed, and no closing date was available. San Angelo LIVE! attempted to contact the business, but was unsuccessful.
Hancock Fabrics: 4102 Sunset Dr.
Hancock Fabrics has been a part of San Angelo for over 20 years, but word soon spread that the store will be closing its doors. Employees at the store were unable to reveal any information as to why they are closing, or the date when they will officially close. One employee said this is because the liquidizing company did not want them to advertise anything more than what can be seen outside the doors of the business.
Store Conversion: Albertsons Market, 2901 Sunset Dr.
San Angelo LIVE! received word that Albertsons will soon become Market Street. According to the store manager, Market Street is owned by Albertsons, so there was no "buy out." However, the store manager could not provide any further details. Additional information will be updated once we receive a response from the store director.

There is a severe slow down in the local economy , small businesses are having a hard time . Its like i have always said there is too much regulation , taxes are too high . This is supposed to be a bastion of conservative republican government , less government regulation , less taxing , isn't that the holy grail of the republican party .
