Dr. Jeff Bright Elected to TASBO Board of Directors

SAISD Assistant Superintendent Jeff Bright was elected to the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) Board of Directors last week at the organization’s annual conference, said a press release Wednesday. He was elected by peer members of the organization and will serve a three-year term.

As a board member, Dr. Bright will attend committee meetings as board liaison, attend assigned affiliate meetings across the state, and stay in touch with assigned committees and affiliates during the year. He will be an advocate for the organization and its members.

Outgoing President Karen Wiesman stated, “It is critical that we continue to develop leaders and encourage qualified board candidates to lend their talent to support TASBO. As an association, we are fortunate to have a talented and dedicated base of members.”

Dr. Bright stated, “It is a humbling honor and I look forward to representing San Angelo ISD and serving the organization that has given so much to helping me throughout my career.”

According to the press release, TASBO was founded in 1946 as a forum for school business officials to share ideas and information and provide advanced educational opportunities for over 6,400 members.  TASBO is a staunch supporter of the 5.3 million public school students in Texas.

Bright has served as an Assistant Superintendent in SAISD for the past thirteen years.
