San Angelo City Offices Closed for Good Friday

 

Most of San Angelo’s City offices, including trash collection and landfill operations, will be closed in observance of Good Friday, on March 25, said a press release Friday.

Fort Concho’s Visitors Center in Barracks 1 will open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Good Friday and the following day. The fort on, 630 S. Oakes St, will also be open from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Self-guided tours will be offered throughout the weekend.

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) offices, which are normally closed on Friday’s, will also be closed Thursday, March 24. WIC’s Ballinger Clinic will also be closed during Good Friday.

Among the City operations that will be closed on Good Friday include:

Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the McNease Convention Center, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court, the San Angelo Nature Center and the San Angelo Animal Shelter. The Animal Shelter will also be closed Saturday, March 26.

The Nature Center, 7409 Knickerbocker Road, will host an Easter EGG-stravaganza from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 26. Admission is $5 for non-members, $3 for members and free for children younger than 4.  

That same day the TLC’s 16th Annual Easter Fest will be held at Texas Bank Sports Complex, 509 Rio Concho Drive, from 11 a.m.-2p.m. First United Methodist Church will host a sunrise worship service at 7 a.m. Easter morning, Sunday, March 27, at Fairmount Cemetery, 1220 W. Avenue N.

Entry fees will be collected at Spring Creek and Middle Concho parks on Good Friday. Fees are collected in the two Lake Nasworthy parks on weekends and holidays from March through Labor Day. Entry and camping permits can be purchased at the parks’ entrances. Camping permits can also be purchased at Spring Creek Marina in Spring Creek Park. Entry fees are $3 per vehicle for San Angelo residents and $6 per vehicle for non-residents. Camping fees are $6 per night for San Angelo residents and $12 per night for non-residents.

City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, March 28.
