Holiday Concert Rescheduled for Monday Night

 

The 5th Annual Night of Peace: Musical Expressions of Faith concert has been rescheduled, said a press release Monday. The concert was originally planned for Sunday night, but was canceled due to inclement weather.

The performance will now take place tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Admission is free and will include classics such as "O Holy Night, "Gesu Bambino," and "Mary, Did You Know?"

Additionally, three professional musicians who are all graduates from SAISD will be performing in this holiday concert; Joshua Thomas Diaz (tenor), Marco Antonio Melendez (baritone), and Adam A. Torres (piano).

According to the press release, these are the highlighted credentials of the performers:

Joshua Thomas Diaz:

Lake View High School Class of 2006
Solo Performer with San Angelo Symphony Orchestra
Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance -  University of Notre Dame (Fort Bend, IN) 
Master of Music in Vocal Performance – Peabody Conservatory of Music (Baltimore, MD) 
Artists Diploma – Peabody Conservatory of Music (Baltimore, MD) 
Doctor of Musical Arts – University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN) (currently pursuing)

Marco Antonio Melendez: 

Central High School Class of 2003
Graduate of world renowned American Boychoir School (previous media coverage via KLST, KSAN, and San Angelo Standard Times)
Bachelor of Music in Sacred Music – Westminster Choir College (Princeton, NJ)
Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy – Holy Names University (Oakland, CA)
Artistic Director of Milwaukee Children’s Choir (Milwaukee, WI)
Nationally sought choral clinician and leader in the field of the expanding adolescent male voice
