San Angelo Police Served Few Arrests on Turkey Day

For a holiday, Thursday’s arrests were minimal; however, while many people enjoyed a serving of turkey and pumpkin pie, some area residents were served with a trip to Tom Green County Jail.

In total, 11 people were arrested on new complaints. Four of those arrests were attributed to DWI and public intoxication. In addition to alcohol related offenses, two area residents, Justin Rodela, 30, and Tommy Gutierrez, 32, were arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

According to Sgt. Cade Solsbery, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, a complainant called in about a vehicle that was suspected in a burglary. SAPD officers checked out the vehicle at Lucky Sweepstakes,1017 Caddo.

“The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Abilene and was in the possession of Rodela,” said Sgt. Solsbery. “It was learned that Gutierrez was also a suspect in the stolen vehicle.”

Sgt. Solsbery added that Gutierrez was located in the 200 block of E. 6th St. He was arrested for an unrelated warrant. Detective Dye with the Criminal Investigation Division responded and conducted the investigation, and at the conclusion, charged both Rodela and Gutierrez with the stated crime. The vehicle was released back to the owner.

Other crimes included the following:

  • Criminal Trespass: 1
