21st Annual San Angelo Christmas Tour of Lights Announced

 

This year will mark the 21st anniversary of the Concho Christmas Celebration Tour of Lights – a unique and cherished tradition of San Angelo and the Concho Valley.  The 2015 annual Concho Christmas Celebration Tour of Lights will begin on Saturday, December 5th and will run every night through Thursday, December 31st. The Tour will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weeknights, and from 6 p.m. to midnight on weekends.  A suggested donation of $5 per vehicle is greatly appreciated, and families are invited to walk, run, bike, or drive the Tour.

The Tour has blossomed from a simple walking tour to a multi-mile journey along the Concho River, featuring more than three million lights and more than fifty Christmas Greeting Cards.  With this year’s addition of a new Candy Cane Castle, and directional sign for the Paseo cartoon viewing area, the tour is sure to thrill young and old alike.The River Light Tour is one of many activities coordinated by Concho Christmas Celebration. The afternoon of December 5th will commence with the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring the Twin Mountain Tonesmen and the San Angelo Community Band.  The ceremony will take place at the corner of Concho and Chadbourne, and will begin around 5:15 p.m.  Immediately following the Ceremony, guests are invited to stay downtown to enjoy the Lights of Christmas Parade, starting at 6 p.m. The parade starts at the Shannon employee parking lot and will travel through the downtown area.
