The San Angelo Area Foundation announced $344,500 in grants that went to 13 organizations as part of its fall discretionary grant program, said a press release Thursday. Generous donors who have entrusted Foundation to manage their donor advised fund, discretionary and fields of interest funds, and unrestricted funds are what made these grants possible.
According to the press release, these agencies are the recipients of the grants:
Brady Volunteer Fire Department – EMS and fire safety equipment - $15,000
Good Samaritan Center of San Antonio – Camp Good Sam – Sonora: $25,000
Greater Works Community Development Center (Mason) support of outreach/HVAC repairs - $10,000
Sonrisas Trials – assist with move to Mosaic Arena - $40,000
Sutton County Health Foundation – five new automatic external defibrillators, repair and replacement parts, and help with Food Pantry project - $70,000
Boys and Girls Club of San Angelo – More Members More Often initiative - $18,500
Critter Shack of Menard – assist in hiring of a veterinarian to provide no/low cost spay and neutering program in Menard and Tom Green Counties - $15,000
Rust Street Ministries – rehabilitation of private space for client intake interviews - $50,000
San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts – El Plein Air - $15,000
San Angelo Performing Arts Coalition – Phase II funding for City Auditorium - $24,000
The Arc of San Angelo – supported decision making and guardianship for persons with intellectual disabilities - $10,000
West Texas Guidance and Counseling – The Cactus Capital Project - $10,000
Young Life – renovation of meeting space - $25,000
The San Angelo Area Foundation, established in 2002, manages 291 charitable funds benefiting numerous causes throughout the Concho Valley. Assets of this community foundation are over $106 million and they have granted over $66 million in grants since their beginning.
