Eleven drunk drivers and six charged with public intoxication filled up the drunk tanks at the Tom Green County Jail over Halloween weekend, a slight spike in comparison to the alcohol charges reported on recent weekends.
Compared to other non-warrant arrests, DWI and PI were overwhelmingly the leading charges, followed by drug possession, which accounted for five bookings, and marijuana possession, which accounted for another four. There were additionally two assaults and two thefts.
In total, 25 inmates were booked into and 32 were released from the county jail on Friday.
On Halloween, 30 were booked and 15 were released.
On Sunday, 20 were booked and 14 were released.
