San Angelo Nonprofit to Host Disabled Veterans for Hunting Trip

SAN ANGELO, TX — A local nonprofit, San Angelo Support for Veterans, will host wounded and disabled veterans this week for an all-expenses paid deer hunting trip at area ranches.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at San Angelo Regional Airport - Mathis Field, when 12 veterans are scheduled to arrive for a walkthrough.

The annual event, which has been held since 2006, offers veterans a way to bond with other people who have had similar experiences in the military, while making connections that could help provide support in the future.

For many of them, it is their first time to venture out into society after being discharged.

An Appreciation Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Vista Cielo Rosa in Christoval.

If you’re interested in donating to the nonprofit to help with future endeavors, checks can be mailed to Lori Davis c/o First Financial Bank, P.O. Box 5291, San Angelo, TX 76902.
