GEORGETOWN, TX — Authorities in Georgetown are continuing a large-scale search for 18-year-old Kenley Bommarito of San Angelo, who went missing Friday night while camping near Lake Georgetown.
Georgetown police said Bommarito was last seen around 10 p.m. on Nov. 28 at a campsite in Sawyer Park. According to the department, all available evidence indicates he has not left the lake area, though investigators are not ruling out any possibilities.
Search operations have been active on land and in the water since late Friday. On Monday, police provided an update noting that search efforts so far have included canines, boats using sonar, multiple agency dive teams, a helicopter equipped with thermal imaging, and trained volunteers from Texas Search and Rescue. Those efforts have not yet located Bommarito.
Police said operations will continue with sonar, drones, diving teams and additional area searches. Because the case remains active and foul play has not been ruled out, authorities urged caution about outside volunteer efforts and emphasized reliance on trained personnel.
Family and friends traveled from San Angelo to assist, and additional relatives and supporters have joined search efforts along the park and lakeshore, according to CBS Austin.
No additional details are being released at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Georgetown Police Department at (512) 930-3510 or call 911.
