Kat Hasty's Homecoming Concert is Set for December 6 in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — The great Bob Dylan once said, "You don't just wake up one day and decide you need to write songs." This quote rings true for the up-and-coming artist Kat Hasty.

As a child, before she knew how to put words on paper, she was already singing and making up melodies. Born and raised in West Texas, her upbringing pours through her songwriting in tales of desert highways and the hustle and bustle of oil towns. Laced with heartache, joy, loss, and female angst, her songs are poignant and uniquely her own. The songwriter released her first EP, *Drowning in Dreams*, in 2021. Her single, "Pretty Things," quickly rose in popularity and has taken her and her band all over the country.

In her own words, her live performances are "a little more rock and roll than the stripped-down acoustic stuff. We like to have fun."

With a new album, The Time of Your Life, released in 2025, this up-and-comer's career is riding with the wind.

According to the country music website Saving Country Music, the new record is "unabashedly Kat as she overshares about her struggles with impulse control, failed love interests, and her utter inability to be anything but herself."

Kat Hasty Breaking Up the Band

The song "Breaking Up the Band" is based on actual events, specifically when she fell for her lead guitar player and ultimately "Yoko Ono’d her own band," as Saving Country Music explained. “The Best We Can” features more autobiography from her life, where she says at one point, “I’m just white trash hiding in a Pendleton sweater.”

A key difference in Kat Hasty's music, compared to Nashville song factories that cobble together polished sounds using mercenary studio musicians, is that Hasty remains true to her style of writing and performing music with lyrics that are deeply personal, relatable, and real—even as she self-produced her latest record with a shoestring approach and some hired players.

On Dec. 6, 2025, Kat Hasty returns home for a triumphant full-band concert in her hometown—the first full showcase of her music in San Angelo during her career—on the stage at the Arc Light Bar & Grill inside the Clarion Hotel, 441 Rio Concho Dr., in San Angelo, Texas.

Kat Hasty's Trailer Trash Christmas Bash promises to be the Christmas party of all Christmas parties in San Angelo this year. Included in the price is a full buffet meal of fried trailer trash food (that's more tasty than you'll ever have at the Waffle House or Denny's) and a full complement of trailer trash drink specials. Dress is more casual than formal and, in Kat's own words, "I want to have a party where my friends and fans can let their hair down and have a West Texas good time!"

Tickets are all-inclusive of the buffet dinner and are $40 per person in advance or $50 at the door for general admission. Table seats are available for best seating at a slightly higher price per person. Get advance tickets on StubWire.
