SAN ANGELO, TX — The City of San Angelo and Tom Green County will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 3, to gather community input on the ongoing update to the region’s Hazard Mitigation Action Plan. The meeting is scheduled for 6–7 p.m. at City Hall, 72 W. College Ave., in the East Reception Room.
The Hazard Mitigation Action Plan aims to reduce long-term risks to life and property from natural and human-caused hazards. Representatives from the City and County’s Office of Emergency Management, along with consulting firm H2O Partners Inc., will present an overview of the project and outline hazards the plan is designed to address.
Officials say public participation is a critical part of the planning process, helping identify vulnerable areas and potential long-term solutions. Residents are encouraged to attend, provide feedback, and share local knowledge that may guide mitigation strategies.
A public survey — open through Feb. 6, 2026 — is also available for residents who wish to contribute input online. The survey takes approximately six minutes to complete and will help inform the development of the updated plan.
