City Manager to Appear as Santa at Railway Museum Event

SAN ANGELO, TX — City Manager Daniel Valenzuela and his wife Suzanna Valenzuela are expected to serve as Santa and Mrs. Claus for the Railway Museum of San Angelo’s “Santa’s Santa Fe Christmas” event on Dec. 13.

Valenzuela, who has announced he will be retiring from the city next year, will arrive at the museum aboard a Texas Pacífico railway engine at 10 a.m. Families may meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, take photos for free, and visit holiday-themed activities.

Valenzuela has served as city manager since 2012. He said it has been an honor to serve San Angelo and that he will miss the people he has worked with.

“I never in my life thought I would be Santa, but I’m finding it is really fun and I’m grateful to be asked,” he stated.

Suzanna Valenzuela previously served five years as president of the Railway Museum Board. She now serves as director of development and marketing for Meals for the Elderly.

The event will also include food, fun, tours, a ride on the "little choo choo train," Christmas gifts and railroad presents.
